Program Schedule Highlights

Myopia Management Profile

This talk will discuss in details critical case history questions and important auxiliary tests at the initial consultation or treatment initiation, to ensure reliable assessment of risks of fast progression and quantification of controlling efficacy.

An Orthokeratology Lens is NOT a Myopia Control Lens
Almost all the OK commercialized worldwide are like original designs released 25 years ago for myopia correction. Old designs have a loss in efficacy in lower myopic or younger children. To obtain results, specific parts of the lens must be modified. The ideal final optical shape to induce in the cornea and the curves of the lens to modify will be discussed.
Common Misinterpretations in Myopia Studies and the Impact on Clinical Applications

This session will delve into prevalent misinterpretations in clinical myopia studies, addressing key sources of biases and confounding factors, exploring their implications on effect estimates, and emphasizing caution when translating findings into real-world patient management.

Anti-Myopia Glasses

This presentation will describe the last wave of anti-myopia glasses. After looking at the different designs, a review of the expected results will be shared. Clinical tips and positioning of the anti-myopia design will be mentioned based on the last 4 years of Canadian experience.
